I called the owner to asked to rate the paint just because I did not see it for a couple of months. He rated it at 8 out of 10. I also asked him what the car needed. He said nothing. Everything works just like it came from the factory. I like this car because it is unmolested. In my business you fix a lot of less than quality work done by previous owners. This car is not like that. I also like original cars which this car is. The car is originally from California and I know this sounds like a story but the present owner says the first owner was a female school teacher. She sold it with 39,000 miles to a big collector in Arizona about eight years ago. The car was then traded to a dealer in Louisiana around a year ago. The dealer immediately sold the car to my customer. This is not a restored car. Other that a paint job and mechanical maintenance this car is an original survivor. The interior is original and in immaculate condition. To me this is a big indicator that the car has had an easy life. In one of the pictures the owner was trying to show the carpet under the floor mat. That is because the carpet is original and looks new. Even the remote trunk release still works. A way to tell if a Trans Am has been stored inside is to inspect the paint that is between the dash pad and the windshield, around the defroster vents. The paint on this cars dash is original and looks new. Being in the restoration business for so many years I have been very lucky to drive quite a few very nice cars. This car is a stand out. Taking this car down the road shows you how it felt to drive a brand new Trans Am back in 1976.

Rare factory close ratio 4 Speed, power steering, power disc brakes. This Marti Report documented XR-7 has received lots of care and attention, not to mention quite a bit of cash, over the last couple of years. The car is just receiving the final touches on professional restoration including receiving a top notch Orange paint job. No expense was spared on materials. Only PP&G products and especially important, only their high line clear coat was used. The driveline has less that 2500 miles on a complete rebuild. The motor & transmission were both completely redone. A new clutch & pressure plate was installed. While the motor was out the engine compartment was stripped to bare metal, smoothed and re-sprayed gloss black. The "Powered by Ford" aluminum valve covers were media blasted and re-sprayed to match the new Edelbrock Elite Series air cleaner. An Edelbrock carb and Performer 351W aluminum intake was added. A four row aluminum radiator with dual electric fans was installed to update the cooling system. The power steering cylinder and valve are brand new. A new dual exhaust system with 40 series Flowmasters was custom welded to fit. To further freshen up the engine compartment new braided hoses and chrome/stainless fastener kit was used when the motor was reinstalled. Both the sequential turn signals and the head light door system were recently gone through and are in perfect working order. The Magnum 500 rims and Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires are also brand new. A new Eoous Tach & Auto Meter Gauges were installed to monitor the freshly rebuilt motor. Worthy of mention is the near perfect condition of the chrome on the grill work and tail light panels. This Cougar XR-7 runs and drives better than it did in '69. It is quick and a blast to drive. This car gets compliments wherever it goes. This car is a show quality Trailer Queen. Options include Power Steering, Power Window & Power Seat. The factory A/C system has been updated to a Vintage Air system with all the polished upgrades. The valve covers, air cleaner, a/c dryer & compressor, power steering reservoir, power steering booster and radiator overflow tank have all been triple chrome plated. The electric over hydraulic retractable convertible top system is in like new working order with all of the electric circuitry having been replaced with solid state components. The chrome is all triple plate concourse condition. The red paint and red interior are both very high show condition. The black cloth convertible top is new. The custom built Horton Hauler trailer that this car travels in is also available for purchase. This Squarebird has undergone a restoration that costs triple the sales price.

T-Top, A/C, One of 643 TAs with factory T-Tops in 76. This car has received lots of attention in our shop; the 455 has been bored 30 over and completely rebuilt with roller tip rockers, Ram Air IV cam, Jet Hot coated Headers, Edelbrock Performer intake and Holly Street Avenger 770 Carb. The biggest electric fan set up that would fit was installed to handle the heat during stop and go traffic. The transmission was replaced with a new TCI 400. The Factory A/C is nut and bolt new and has a few tricks to make it blow extra cold. The entire suspension is all new with Global West 1.5 inch drop springs on all four corners. The paint is PP&G Base/Clear in Coca Cola Red. The Floors have been heavily insulated with Mylar backed butal. This car was purpose built to drive. And do it quickly and comfortably.
